Programs

The Township Library is committed to providing more than simple access to books. The library is committed to offering programs designed to educate children while encouraging a lifetime love of reading.

Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the TD Bank and is offered in the months of July and August and is aimed at school aged children, although all kids are welcome to take part.

The program has a different theme each year, for example in the summer of 2002 the program’s theme was “Around the World”, in 2003 the theme was “Under the Sea”, and in 2008 the theme was “Laugh Out Loud”. The children read books that relate to this theme, and work with the Librarian on arts and crafts that reflect what they read. Children are asked to complete book reports on their reading material and return the reports to the Librarian at the next session.

Pre-School Program (Wednesday 10:30am – 11:30am)

Free Story Time for Children Aged Four and Under The pre-school program normally begins in November each year. Parents/caregivers with their children (age birth to four years) are invited to attend a fun and interactive story time program.
